Teddy Bear Making Classes
Next class is Saturday, June 9, 2001. The project will be Amethist. Look for upcoming photo of class project on this site and at March shows. The class is limited to 10 and requires a $40 deposit. The balance is due by May 1. For details call me at 440-878-4718 or email: carla@haveaheart.net.
I see you're curious as to what we do in my teddy bear class. Obviously, we make a teddy bear. YOURS TO KEEP. You will experience what it is like to create something that you have helped design. You will feel a bit of what I feel every time I create a teddy bear.
All supplies are included in the class fee. This includes: mohair, eyes, stuffing, pellets, thread, floss, and joints to complete your new friend. There is a list of things that you must bring. This list of items will be sent to you a couple weeks prior to the class, so that you don't misplace it. These items are: 1/4" drive ratchet with 3" extension, straight pins, small sharp fabric scissors, paper scissors, awl, etc. Please bring a sewing machine.
When you come to class there will be coffee, tea, orange juice, along with muffins so that you're not late for class. A delicious lunch is also provided.
You will then cut out these pieces, sew them and brush the fur out of their seams. You will stuff the head, sculpting it as you go, joint the head and limbs, plus attach them to the body. You will learn how to attach the ears and do the eyes, nose and mouth.
Upon completion at the end of the day, you will get your picture taken with your finished teddy bear. This is a fun time for everyone. Friends, sisters, mothers and daughters, and even couples have taken my classes.
Some basic sewing skills are necessary. I hope if you fit this category, you will want to create a teddy bear of your very own, too. The classes are limited to 20. Experience what others have felt after they have completed their teddy bears, that their furry creations now "Have A Heart".
